PROGRAM FRAMEWORK

At Field & Fold, we focus on developing the whole child ­academically, socially, and personally. Our model combines the flexibility of home education with the consistency and community of a classroom setting.

Hybrid Programming

Field and Fold operates on a hybrid model, meeting Monday and Wednesday with optional Friday enrichment add-ons. This flexible structure gives families the consistency and community of an organized academic environment while preserving the freedom that makes homeschooling special. For families who want more, additional days may be added as the program grows — making it easy to scale your child's experience as your needs change. Whether you're looking for two days of structured learning or a fuller week, Field and Fold is designed to grow right alongside your family.

Passionate, Professional, Personal Educators

Field and Fold teachers are professionally certified, experienced, and genuinely passionate about the children they serve. Warm and nurturing by nature, they create an environment where every child feels known, supported, and excited to learn. Our teachers deeply respect the homeschooling philosophy — honoring each family's intentionality and embracing the individual learning styles, curiosity, and pace that make every child unique. Professional in practice, personal in approach, they are the heart of Field and Fold.

Designed for Connection

Certified teachers are supported by a dedicated aide, maintaining a 1:8 student-to-teacher ratio with a maximum of 16 students per class. This intentionally small setting means every child is known, supported, and never lost in the crowd. Field and Fold is currently accepting primary students in grades 1–2 and elementary students in grades 3–5. Spots are limited by design — because small is kind of the whole point!

​We seek to cultivate a learning environment grounded in love, grace, curiosity, connection, and respect for the whole child. We value meaningful relationships, gentle guidance, and partnership with families as children grow academically, emotionally, and spiritually. Field & Fold Collective is rooted in Christian values and believes that children are created in the image of God, worthy of dignity, wonder, and belonging. We welcome families who desire a thoughtful, relationship-centered, and faith-informed educational community. While we are not a covenant program, families will sign an understanding that the following ideals will be integrated into the daily rhythm:

Values-Driven Approach

Our program offers a values-drive approach, rooted in the Fruits of the Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control - alongside a strong foundation of kindness, respect, responsibility, and a love for learning. Curriculum is selected based on academic effectiveness and best practices, with a thoughtful Christian worldview overlay that shapes discussion, application, and classroom culture.

Students of all faith backgrounds are warmly welcomed into our community. We hold a statement of faith that guides our values and staff expectations, but we are not a covenant Christian program and do not require families to affirm or sign agreement with our beliefs—only an understanding of the faith-forward approach that shapes our teaching and community. Our focus is on fostering a respectful, inclusive environment where students can grow academically, socially, and morally within a clear and consistent values-based framework.

Family Partnership

​

We believe education works best when programs and families partner together. Our program is designed to support — not replace — the vital role of the family in a child’s education. At Field & Fold, students learn through a hybrid model, attending classes part-time on campus and continuing learning at home on satellite days.

​

Core instruction is delivered in class, providing students with strong academic foundations, hands-on learning experiences, and guided support from certified teachers. Families then reinforce learning at home through meaningful follow-through and individualized learning opportunities. Math is the one required home-study subject, with students completing four lessons per week to ensure consistent progress and fluency development. To provide flexibility for families, parents may choose to use our recommended home-study curriculum package for remaining subjects or implement their own preferred curriculum and home-learning approach on non-class days. This model allows families to remain actively involved in their child’s education while benefiting from the structure, support, and community of a collaborative learning environment.

Parents are required to complete a certain number of volunteer hours per year as this further develops the family partnership and helps to keep tuition more affordable.

Guided Instruction, Experiential Learning, & Purposeful Practice

Children learn through hands-on exploration, creativity, and real-world experiences that make learning meaningful and memorable. Instruction is intentionally balanced, blending teacher-guided lessons, carefully curated learning centers that reinforce and extend understanding, and purposeful independent practice. Students engage in active discovery through projects, experiments, movement, discussion, and collaboration, allowing them to connect concepts to the world around them. This approach nurtures curiosity, encourages problem-solving, and builds confidence as learners apply their knowledge in authentic and purposeful ways.

Nature Integration

​

Time outdoors is a regular and intentional part of our daily rhythm, giving students ample opportunities to move, explore, and learn beyond the classroom walls. Outdoor learning encourages curiosity, resilience, and wonder as children engage with nature, fresh air, and open-ended play. Whether observing the environment, collaborating with peers, or simply having time to reset and recharge, outdoor experiences support both academic growth and whole-child development.

LEARNING COMMUNITY

Learners

Field & Fold is designed for creative, engaged learners who thrive in a balanced, purposeful, reduced-stress, and genuinely fun learning environment. We welcome students working at, above, or approaching grade level who enjoy hands-on learning, small student-teacher ratios, and a positive, respectful community. We use an evidence-based Science of Reading (OG) approach to build strong literacy for all students. Whether students are ready to be challenged or need time to strengthen foundational skills, our small groups and thoughtful cohort placement allow us to support a variety of learning profiles—while maintaining a calm, kind, and fun environment where students stay curious, confident, and excited to learn. We are not equipped to accept students who have a history of non-compliant, aggressive or disruptive tendencies.

Academic Placement

​

Students are grouped in flexible age bands with intentional overlap between grade levels, allowing us to consider both academic readiness and social maturity. This approach helps us thoughtfully build academic and social cohorts that provide the right balance of challenge, support, and peer connection for each learner. For reading and math, students are placed in small groups that meets their individual level. For instance, a student in third grade may be placed in the fourth grade math group while working in a high second or third small group for reading.

Grading

​

We believe in fostering mastery through learning, which is why our elementary cohorts emphasize growth over traditional grading. Student work is first reviewed by the teacher and then collaboratively corrected by peers to deepen understanding and reinforce skills. Grading begins when students enter middle school.​

Learning Support

Our curriculum and instructional approach are designed for students working at or above grade level, while naturally accommodating some variation in academic levels and/or learning profiles through built-in flexibility, accommodations, and small-group learning cohorts. However, this program does not provide specific intervention or remediation. Families seeking specialized reading or math support may wish to explore EdVentures or Weatherstone Academy in Roswell, which offer more targeted academic support and tutoring opportunities.

CURRICULUM

Learning pods are recognized educational settings under the Georgia Educational Code & SB246 – the Learning Pod Protection Act. This legislation ensures that families can engage in school-like learning communities while retaining the flexibility and independence of homeschooling. Accredited transcript option available!
